for use at a U-Prod Facility

Making a Connection
- Configuring via Ethernet:
Ask any staff for location of available Ethernet port, to
be compatible with Cat5 RJ-45 Ethernet Cables (10BaseT).
- Configuring via Airport (IEEE 802.11HR) Wireless Network:
Check for compatibility with Apple Airport products:
http://www.apple.com/airport/specs.html
Stand within a few feet of Airport base station location to
ensure coverage until entire configuration is complete.
Operating System Configuration
- Configuring via Ethernet:
For Macs:
Set TCP configuration:
- Open TCP/IP control panel (under apple menu/control panels)
- set 'connection' to 'ethernet'
- set 'configure' to 'use DHCP server'
For PCs:
Set TCP configuration:
- Select run under Start Menu and run winpccfg
- click 'release' and then 'renew'
- Configuring via Airport(IEEE 802.11HR):
For Macs:
Select the wireless network called "U-Prod Airport"
in the Airport control panel.
Open the Appletalk control panel and select Connect Via: Airport.
You should see the Zone "umich-UProductions" in the
lower portion of the Appletalk zone.
Set TCP configuration:
- Open TCP/IP control panel (under apple menu/control panels)
- select 'Connect' via 'Airport'
- select 'Configure' using 'DHCP sever'

For PCs:
Select the wireless network called "U-Prod Airport"
in the SS ID settings of your wireless card.
Set TCP configuration:
- Select run under Start Menu and run winpccfg
- Select release and then renew
Enter DNS Servers
DNS servers:
- 141.211.125.17
- 141.211.144.17
- Search domain: umich.edu
